Weekly 3.1 Ulduar Patch PTR Round-up

We’ve had another rapid week o f changes over on the PTR. There’s also been several key announcements from Blizzard regarding Arena, Hunters, Tier 8 Gear stat bonuses, and gear from MMO-Champion, WoW Insider and not to mention our very own Evias over at the Lodge Forums.

As for what’s changed? Here’s a quick rundown of this weeks.

Talent Calculators

  • The Talent Calculator has been updated to the latest build. (link)

Observed changes not in notes:

  • Focused Aim in Marksman is now properly contributing hit to pets. Pets may also be receiving hit contribution below full percents. Need confirmation.
  • Sniper Training is now implemented. Standing still for 6 seconds will give you a 14 second Sniper Training buff (movement does not cancel the effect) and is refreshed every six seconds if you continue standing still.
  • Pets are now following their masters when jumping down ledges and appear to be becoming unstuck much more rapidly.
  • Hunters Mark is now looping it’s crosshair animation for the duration of the debuff.
  • Character faces on the PTR are now fixed.
  • Dual Spec talent switching now has an animation.
  • Dual Spec talent switching no longer resets pet talents for non-BM switches. Switching to or from BM will reset pet talents.
  • Pet Stable Window – scrolling over a pet will now display pet name, level, family and… talent tree. Facepalm, level 80 Wolf, Ferocity.
  • Expose Weakness now has a red starburst visual effect on the hunter for the duration of the buff.

Stuff that’s still messed up:

  • Grim Toll (trinket) is still based on spell hit, as I’ve gotten several misses with 5.25% hit from gear and 3% from FA.
  • Call of the Wild is still only applying melee attack power past 20 yards.
  • Rapid Recuperation is whack (technical term) and is scaling based on iAotH and Glyph of the Hawk.
  • Armored horse mounts still have a texture problem causing their armor to appear way cooler than it does on live.
  • Call Stabled Pet is still a 30 minute cooldown.

New mounts

  • Coralshell Turtle has been renamed to Sea Turtle – Summons and dismisses a rideable Sea Turtle. This mount can’t move very quickly on land, but she’s a great swimmer.
  • Deadly Gladiator’s Frostwyrm – Summons and dismisses a rideable Deadly Gladiator’s Frostwyrm mount. This is an extremely fast mount. This mount can only be summoned in Outland or Northrend. (pic)

T8 Sets

  • Conquerors Scourgestalker Set (T8-25 Man) (pic)
  • Valorous Scourgestalker Set (Ti-10 Man) (pic)

 

T8 Bonuses

  • Hunter T8 2P Bonus — Increases the damage done by your Serpent Sting by 10%.
  • Hunter T8 4P Bonus — Your Steady Shot has a chance to grant you 600 attack power for 15 sec. (

 Beast Mastery

  • Aspect of the Viper now requires a ranged weapon.

Survival

  • Trap Mastery now increases the duration of Frost Trap and Freezing Trap by 10% (Down from 20%), the periodic damage done by Immolatrion Trap, Explosive Trap, and Black Arrow by 10/20/30%, and increases the number of snakes summoned by Snake Trap by 30/60/90.
    (Note: The wording on snake trap here is a little wrong, 3/3 Trap Mastery’d Snake Trap releases 14 snakes (up from 8 untalented).

Pet

  • Stamped (Rhino) no longer knockbacks the target but causes it to take 25% additional damage from bleed effects for 1 min instead.
  • Spore Cloud range was increased from 5 to 6 yards.
