New LFG Is Freaking Awesome
Anyone have a hat? I’ve already eaten mine and actually think it’s only fair if I eat another one. See I have said numerous times how I hate running PUGs. Especially after having numerous failed attempts.
Well folks, I’m here to say that this has changed. Yes, I’ll admit it, I’m a complete LFG Fanboy. I mean, I totally thought that the new Dungeon Finder was awesome when announced. And even when I finally got around to trying it last week was pretty much sold that it was the best new thing in Warcraft. But man! This weekend complete sold me. And I owe it all to 3 awesome runs by some pretty cool guys.
So before I go any further, I want to give a huge shout out and thanks to:

- Zarne <We are Insanity> Dentarg (Healer)
- Pewbz <We are Insanity> Dentarg (DPS)
- Vindrahcir <Gecko> on Khadgar (DPS)
We had a couple of other guys that ran with us at first and I feel really bad for not getting their names also. One was Tam and I don’t remember the other guy. But thanks to you also.
Want to know what made this such an awesome experience? Three main things.
First, everyone was super polite. If someone had to go to the bathroom, we waited. When I needed to go throw my underwear in the washing machine, they waited. Even when I said it would be okay to kick me, they still waited. And when you came back. It was, full tilt, nonstop, fly by the seat of your pants action.
Next thing that made this an awesome group was how everyone respected the need before greed. Looting is one of those things that can be really frustrating in PUGs. Ever had that guy that would roll need alongside you even after you asked if you could need it? Not these guys. It was always, hey if you need it, it’s all yours. I got some awesome upgrades and so did everyone else. Again, thx guys!
Finally, what made this a blast, was everyone was having fun. Even when we wiped. We just shrugged it off and went back in laughing how we probably shouldn’t do that again. And when I get lost (Yeah, I do that a lot guys, sorry.) No worries, the help you find your way back and then move forward. Never making you feel worse than you already did. Jokes were plenty. Laughs were a copper a dozen. And in the end we ran 3 dungeons together, laughing and blasting all the way through.
So hats off guys! Hope I get a chance to run with you all again. It really was an honor and blast!
I completely agree. The new system has given me more time to go about my normal business of gathering, questing and other stuff and not worry about reading lines of chat for a group, or searching around trying to get into anything.
Now, I just plug in and go about my business and enjoy end game on a casual play style.
I have to agree. Having the opportunity to do 10-20 minutes of questing then hopping into a dungeon for another 15-30 minutes is just too much fun!
Yes the new system seems to make for faster groups although some (very few) have been nightmares.

Funny you should ask about the podcast. We just had a live broadcast last night. The podcast is already up on iTunes and the show notes and info will be available first thing Tuesday morning.
I need to get off my butt and try this out, I’ve been apprehensive about PUGing since a bad experience I had a long long time ago. But you make it sound pretty good.

Now Eddie, I never stopped liking WoW, I promise. I just don’t play very often. I blame real life for that. And the only time I do get to play is early in the morning when most people in the right mind are sleeping. So, I’m excited because I think I might actually get to do some instances now with other crazy early birds (or really late owls).
I also play early in the morning (like 5 am server time) and I have been able to get a group in about 15 to 20 minutes. So I’ll be in questing area, queue up, quest and get group. I do however recommend that when you ready to do a dungeon you get to a safe spot before entering. Yeah I didn’t do that and came back into a major mob!
That’s good to know, now that I finally have my addons updated maybe I’ll give it a try, heaven knows those darn dungeon quests add up if you don’t attend to them.
I love it as well, but I swear I die a little inside at all the hunters with str, and meleeing everything at low level runs(running a bear tank right now up through the levels), Had one hunter with a gray bow, and no arrows and when we asked them to teleport out and get some ammo they got bent out of shape.
I should set up a macro and send them here each time I see them
Ouch! Yeah. Early on I was with a group and the Tank announced to the group. “Well at least the hunter doesn’t suck!” Man talk about deflating my epeen. lol
Good news was after I mentioned I hope not that I had a reputation to uphold that he shot back. “Oh! Are you The Hunting Lodge guy!”
I swear there’s another Brig running around I can’t seem to find.
