Welcome Back to The Hunting Lodge Podcast! That’s right! The Boys are back in town! Brigwyn and Daewin are back together again after the holiday break. We hope you’re not like Dae recovering from some bug, but are in good health, and full of vim and vigor as we kick of a new season and new year!
And guess what! We had a very special guest host joining us. So if we seem even more distracted than usual, well you can blame the fact we had a lady with us. Yep, hard to believe I know but Dae and I cleaned up the Lodge. Threw all of the dirty clothes in the closet, and shoved the games under the bed. Okay, maybe we didn’t go through that much hassle, but I did put on a clean shirt and made sure Daewin did also.
Why did we go through all that trouble? Well, it’s not every week we get someone as as awesome as Nassira of Diaries of Marksman Hunter! Yeah I know right? A real live girl braved joining us! Not only that, Nass is on hunter that doesn’t hesitate to kick butt and take names! (Just don’t ask how I know. But feel free to check out our 20 Questions with Nassira to learn more.)
Well you can listen now or feel free to go ahead and download Episode 19 (79) now or you can download it from our iTunes, Zune Marketplace or Podcast RSS Feed.

Discussion Items
- Announced that THL Podcast Interviewed Arxkanite the creator and developer of GearScore . (NOTE: The Interview with Arxkanite should be available for download on Thursday. so stay tuned!)
- What about using GearScore addons, websites to determine PUG composition even Guild Membership or Raid Composition?
“I use gearscore for my own personal use same with recount i dont fell anyone should be judged on there recount or gearscore. I have been vote kicked for having low gear score i was about 3200 at the time and i know i can run heroics with my gear this was on my dk , but according to them my gearscore was low. My bad felling about gearscore is how Blizzard seem to have picked up on it and basing the new looking for group after it.” – Strayhans on Lightbringer (EU) why they use Gear Score
“I’ve no idea why GS has risen to prominence a lot more lately than ever before. Perhaps it was when Blizzard said, “The LFD tool will select other members based on gear level,” which people didn’t really realize it is using Blizzard’s internal logic, not some addon’s weighting system (that is a bit wrong and misleading at times).” – Nagrarok, of Farseer Nagarok, on why it’s not such a hot issue
Uses it mostly to sift through PUGgers and see that they’re at least geared for content. “Why waste 25 people’s time wiping over and over again when you could’ve properly balanced the group in the first place? ” – @Lullahby (Twitter) – On why to use it
- We discussed how Blizzard builds content for people to have about 50/50 of the previous and one lower to run the current content. So to do ICC they’re expecting someone to have about 50% T-9 and 50% T-8. But a lot of players seem to expect other players to be “Over Geared” or geared better than what Blizzard expects.
