Hunter Raid Buffs and Consumables
BUFFS AND CONSUMABLES
We cover pet buffs in the “Raiding With Your Pet” section, but what should a hunter bring for himself?
Flasks vs Elixirs
Flask of Relentless Assault will provide you with more bang for your buck than the Elixir of Major Agility. The raw AP it provides gives you more DPS. Plus, it doesn’t go away when you die. This can save you quite a bit in the long run.
If you do decide to go with Elixirs:
Elixir of Major Agility (Battle Elixir)
Elixir of Major Mageblood (Guardian Elixir)
Elixir of Draenic Wisdom (Guardian Elixir)
These will buff your DPS and your mana regen. Major Mageblood is better than Draenic Wisdom, but if you cannot find someone with the Mageblood recipe (Zul’Gurub rep), DW will do in a pinch.
Alchemists will also want to look at the Mad Alchemist potion for better result.
This is important for helping your mana regen.
Fel Mana Potions (if you can find them, these are great because you regen more mana, and it’s a static amount, and hunter’s are unique in that our attacks, though requiring mana, do not suffer from the debuff this pot provides)
If you can’t grab Fel Mana Potions, get these.
A stack or two should be on hand just in case.
I like trying to keep a stack of these on hand. Some fights (like Fathom Lord Karathress) require that you be above a certain percentage of health at all times during the fight. (FLK you need to be above 50% ALWAYS). While you get a bit less bang than the Super Healing Potions or Super Mana Potions, it’s great if you’re getting low on both, especially since you’re limited to 1 pot every 2 mins.
Food
Warp Burgers and Grilled Mudfish are your best bet since they provide Agility, though if you’re in a pinch, Ravager Dogs will do (plain AP)
RAID BUFFS
In a raid, there will be several classes that can provide you with buffs. The ones preceded by a ** can also directly help your pets (so ask your buffers to give these to your pets)
Druids-
**Mark of the Wild (Gift of the Wild if done as a group buff) - Increases all of your attributes, armor and resistances.
**Improved Leader of the Pack - Passive buff that only comes up if you have a feral druid in your group. Gives you 5% crit.
Hunters-
**Trueshot Aura - Increases your AP, if you have a MM hunter in the raid, ask to be put in the same group.
Mages-
Arcane Brilliance - Increases your Intellect. Bigger mana pool = more DPS time. See, they aren’t just vendind machines :).
Paladins-
These guys have by far the greatest number of buffs for us, and our pets!
Greater Blessing of Kings - Increases all your stats by 10%. This should be the top priority for you as you get more Agility (AP and Crit), more Intellect for a larger mana pool, more Stamina to survive AoEs, more Spirit for mana regen, and more strength for um….. hitting spiders as you run past them.
Greater Blessing of Might - Increases your AP by 220 (more if they spec into it. If you can, talk with your Pallies for getting that extra boost. This is #2 on the priority list.
Greater Blessing of Wisdom - Increases your mana regen. Nice, but not necessary. With well-timed fel mana pots, you can last through many fights (depending on fast your guild can down them) without much problem.
Greater Blessing of Salvation - Decreases the amount of threat you generate. This one is actually underrated, particularly in the later raids. Once you start getting int BT/MH, you can easily generate 600-1000 TPS even with it on. If you only have 3 pallies, and you find yourself hitting the threat cap often, and don’t have mana problems, you may want to request this so you can push harder and not waste GCDs on Feign Death if you don’t need it.
Priests-
Prayer of Fortitude - Increases stamina by 79 (more if specced into it). Very helpful for AoE damage.
Prayer of Spirit - Nice increase to mana and health regen, though not necessary. If you can get it, great, if not, don’t worry about it.
Shamans (Divided by totem type) -
Earth Totem:
Strength of Earth Totem - Increases your pet’s strength.
Air Totem-
Grace of Air - Increases Agility
Water Totem-
Mana Spring Totem - Increases mana regen
Fire totems don’t have anything that increase our DPS.
Warlock -
Blood Pact (Imp) - Increases Stamina. Good for AoE fights

A note about buff foods… if you are below the 142 hit rating cap, Spicy Hot Talbuk may be your best bet. It has 20 HR.
