Ghostcrawler Say What!?!?

Alright, so this is starting up.  Here we are being nerfed from the getgo and now GC comes out on the forums and says:

Hunter pve dps is definitely something we’re keeping an eye on. It’s high and perhaps too high, but we need to see some more players raiding first. - Ghostcrawler

After much QQ and more whining.  We get a little more insight into what GC is thinking about.

We definitely don’t think it’s a good design to inflate a whole class in PvE if they are weak in PvP or vice versa. If hunters are weak in PvP, as many of the hunters suspect, then we want to handle that as a separate issue. A Steady Shot nerf for example, would have less impact on PvP than reducing dps across the board, and we would certainly be prepared to compensate hunters in other ways for PvP.

Again, we have not announced any changes. There is no hotfix incoming. We don’t think this is a hotfix worthy issue. Standard caveats to all that apply. - Ghostcrawler

Now I know that he didn’t say it was imminent but neither did he say this about JOW nerf.  How many tweaks do they need to do and why pick on us?  I’m hearing about DK’s out dpsing hunters, locks, shammies you name it.  But now more for us?  All because of some QQ from non-hunters.

I’m not one to rant, but this is a bit ridiculous. Come one GC!! Stop with the nerf bat and maybe look at others. The only thing we do is DPS if we’re great at it, so be it.  But every time we get something together and start climbing our way back to the top, people complain and out comes the nerf bat..  /sigh…

Anyways, you can bet that this is on our watch list and we’ll keep you informed as to what happens. And if a nerf comes our way, you know we’ll work hard to find other ways to climb back to the top.

PVP Players Beware!!! Blizzard is Watching You!!

Yep that’s right. Blizzard is watching you and no I don’t mean the well known tool of Banishmnet (Warden) I mean Blizzard is still only watching Hunters in PVP? In Day-2 of the Blizzcon Class Discussion, WoW Insider reported:

3:39PM
Q: How do you balance Hunter arena DPS with Hunter raid DPS?
A: I agree that they’re at the top of the list for sustained raid DPS. Definitely jives with what we’ve seen. Think it can be balanced with PvP. We’re keeping an eye on it. - Blizzard

What in the world does that mean?? Watching us?? THey admit we are great in PVE and that they approve of our DPS and Damage output. But as every hunter knows, WE SUCK IN PVP-ARENA!!! (yes, uncharacteristic of me I know, but HEY! I feel your pain also.

So I gues that’s our answer to some respect, Blizzard just doesn’t know what to do with us. I guess again we are being put to the test and see how inventive, tenacious, cunning we truly are.

So end the end only the few truly Masterful Hunters out there will step up, prove a point and top the charts. While the others that enjoy PVP will be relegated to BG’s. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope that BG Ratings will start to account for something!

It’s OFFICIAL!!! November 13, 2008

Alright.. I’m not one that too often goes off the deep end.

(Well maybe I am sometimes..) But we’ve just been hit with and official release date!! November 13, 2008.
Don’t believe me?  Check it here!!  So now that we have an “Official” Release date, we’ll start keeping you updated on the known hunter changes.   With only a couple of months left, we’ll start seeing fewer and fewer updates to the Hunter changes.  So we can start reporting on what’s going on from the Beta Forums with more assurances etc.. :)

OH!! Did I mention, not only is there a normal release on 11/13/08.  But we’ll also have a Collectors Edition.  And let me tell you what.  I’m going to be extremely excited about this one.

Here’s just a few things that you can expect to see in the CE.

  • World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King on DVD-ROM.
  • The Art of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, a 208-page book featuring never-before-seen images from the game.
